At Pens Meadow School all children and young people are individuals. We understand, that every single one of them has their different needs, wishes, feeling as well background circumstances. We get to know them very well through robust transition and induction processes as well as key worker approach no matter how old they are. This allows us to identify challenges our pupils meet on a daily basis and address them without delays.

Pupils’ key workers are the main point of contact for their families in addition to the class teachers.

Team Around a Child meetings are led by Family Outreach and attended by a representative from each class on a rotational basis. This allows all staff members to be familiar with systems and processes. TAC meetings are minuted and shared with all staff through an appropriate channel in TEAMS.

TAC meetings are schedules as follows:

Tuesday – Lower Phase and Complex Needs (Green, Orange, Purple and Pink classes)

Wednesday – Middle and Upper phase (Yellow, Blue and Red classes)

Thursday – Post 14 (Birch, Maple, Oak and Elm forms)

Each class maintains a TAC folder, where staff make and share notes regarding each individual. Following discussion in a meeting, actions are recorded and shared with relevant staff by class staff in their folders. Actions are then reviewed in the next meeting.
